Zijie Yang

Control systems engineer and open-source tool developer.

I am Zijie Yang, a control systems engineer with an electrical engineering background from the University of Melbourne. I develop battery management systems for energy storage and automotive applications, working across requirements, architecture, control strategies, hardware and software coordination, and validation. Outside work, I build open-source tools and explore the connections between hardware, software, data and visualization.

How I approach a project

Understand the whole system

Consider use cases, requirements and interfaces together, and establish boundaries and constraints early in the architecture.

Validate decisions through implementation

Use software, hardware and test benches to verify designs, guide iterations and resolve issues.

Make the result useful

Focus on delivery, documentation and usability so that engineering work becomes part of real products and workflows.
