Connecting requirements, system design and engineering delivery, from battery management systems to open-source software.
I am Zijie Yang, a control systems engineer with an electrical engineering background from the University of Melbourne. I develop battery management systems for energy storage and automotive applications, working across requirements, architecture, control strategies, hardware and software coordination, and validation. Outside work, I build open-source tools and explore the connections between hardware, software, data and visualization.
Responsible for BMS development for utility-scale and commercial and industrial energy storage, including in-house development and third-party BMS integration.
Lead the full development lifecycle of an in-house energy-storage BMS, from requirements, architecture and control strategies to hardware and software coordination and validation.
Evaluate suppliers, define interface specifications and validate system integration, supporting IEC / UL certification and production delivery of multiple utility-scale storage products.
