Actual golf trajectory visualization in the capstone Unity application

Turning a shot into a readable trajectory

This master’s capstone used Doppler radar to capture golf launch parameters, predict ball-flight trajectories and display them in real time as a 3D visualization in a mobile application.

As team lead, I designed the overall hardware and software architecture, selected key components and coordinated development. I independently implemented all software systems.

From acquisition to a data model

I used C for ADC control and data acquisition, and Python and Bash for data analysis, trajectory modelling and data compression.

I also designed the Bluetooth communication protocol and optimized transmission, forming a working chain from acquisition to processing and visualization.

Connecting data and experience through 3D

I developed the mobile application with C# and Unity, turning calculated trajectories into real-time 3D visuals. The project contained more than 3,000 lines of code and included early exploration of extensions and potential commercial applications.

Prototype, demonstration and report

The original demonstration video is preserved below. The resources below include the report, software overview, software.pdf, original poster and hardware photo, and the original demonstration video, alongside the backend, Unity and report LaTeX repositories.
